Tyler Robinson tearfully confessed to killing Charlie Kirk to trans lover Lance Twiggs hours after assassination
Tyler Robinson’s trans lover, Lance Twiggs, revealed his partner’s alleged tearful confession after returning home from killing Charlie Kirk — hours before turning himself in.
Robinson was walking around his apartment before breaking down and declaring he “wishes he hadn’t done it,” Twiggs — who confirmed he also went by the name Luna — told prosecutors Thursday in never-before-seen footage.
The video and accompanying texts — shown for the first time in court during a preliminary hearing — offered the strongest picture yet of how the accused lone gunman allegedly confessed to the assassination.
Video showed prosecutor Ryan McBride interviewing Robinson’s partner, who described Robinson’s alleged regret when they spoke in person on Sept. 11 — one day after Kirk was killed.
“Had he talked about what he had done?” McBride asked.
“Didn’t go into detail… I just asked him in person if what he said was true the night before, and he said it was… started crying a little bit, and said he wishes he hadn’t done it,” Twiggs, 22, said during the recorded interview.
“…Eventually he said he would talk to his parents or turn himself over,” he said.

Twiggs — who is not accused of any wrongdoing — was granted limited immunity for his testimony by the US Attorney’s Office and the Utah County Attorney’s Office.
He was Robinson’s roommate and lover in the town of St. George — located about three hours from Utah Valley University.
Twiggs first got to know Robinson when he moved into his apartment as a roommate, and the arrangement soon blossomed into a romance.
Robinson rarely spoke about LGBTQ+ issues and was more interested in Trump and his policies, Twiggs said near the end of his video testimony.

Robinson told Twiggs he had been planning the assassination for over a week.“I personally had never heard him talk about Charlie Kirk before specifically,” Twiggs said.
Twiggs also testified that — around one month before Kirk’s death, at most — Robinson asked if they had a Dremel.

“I don’t remember exactly when, but he had said he was planning to go hunting with his family and he asked me… if we had a Dremel, because he said he wanted to engrave messages on bullets,” he said.
A state investigator claimed Twiggs’ testimony matched an early police interview conducted on September 12, 2025.
Twiggs was shown personal texts, Discord messages, and a handwritten note allegedly from Robinson, said Brian Davis of the Utah State Bureau of Investigation.
Twiggs said that he read a note left under Robinson’s computer keyboard in his bedroom at around 11 p.m. on the night of Kirk’s death.
In text messages shown in court Thursday, Robinson allegedly told Twiggs: “drop what you are doing, look under my keyboard.”

Other messages allegedly detailed Robinson searching for his rifle after Kirk’s death, followed by an alleged confession.
“shouldn’t be long until I can come home, but I gotta grab my rifle still. to be honest I had hoped to keep this secret till I died of old age. I am sorry to involve you,” Robinson allegedly wrote.
“you werent the one who did it right????” Twiggs responded, to which Robinson allegedly replied, “I am, I’m sorry.”
Kirk, 31, was fatally shot in the neck during an event on the campus of Utah Valley University.
Robinson’s defense had pushed to keep media from broadcasting the video and text messages out of court, arguing that they would violate their client’s rights and prejudice the jury pool.
Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, joined prosecutors in urging the court to let the exhibits be shown in full.
“The Kirk family has waited 10 months for this hearing… They have a right to see and feel what’s going on in this courtroom,” attorney Jeffrey Neiman said to the judge.

The Kirk family has sought to finally shut down rampant conspiracy theories from influencer Candace Owens and others surrounding Charlie Kirk’s death.
Videos prosecutors showed in court Tuesday allegedly trace Robinson’s exact movements at Utah Valley University on the day of the shooting.
Prosecutors also presented FBI analysis they claim links Robinson with DNA on a towel used to hide the rifle.
DNA likely matching both him and Twiggs was also found on a screwdriver left where Robinson allegedly positioned himself for the fatal shot, witnesses testified in the hearing set to end on Friday.
Robinson, now 23, has not yet entered a plea. He faces the death penalty if convicted.
