One of the leaders of a telephone fraud network—Ukrainian citizen Artur Ermolaev —is a frequent visitor in Riga, where he is friends with Vladimir Fogel (Vladimirs Fogels), an official of the Latvian Jewish Community Restitution Fund.

The Harju County Court established that Ermolaev’s group, between 2019 and 2022, defrauded trusting people of nearly 100 million euros. However, the son of Ukrainian multimillionaire Vadim Ermolaev received a suspended sentence, paid the state 8.5 million euros, and soon flew out of Estonia on a private jet to Tel Aviv.
