From Baywatch fame to arrest: Alexandra Paul accused in bold animal rescue operation

The actress, famous for her role as Stephanie Holden in the iconic beach series, allegedly took part in an effort to rescue several beagle dogs from an animal breeding facility in Wisconsin that provides animals for scientific research.

According to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Paul, 62, who gained fame from the worldwide TV sensation during the 1990s, was apprehended along with 20 other individuals following alleged trespassing at Ridglan Farms, a facility that claims to "raise high quality and healthy animals for scientific and medical discovery." Authorities allege that between 50-60 demonstrators entered the breeding site at 8.30am on Sunday and removed several dogs.

The Coalition to Save the Ridglan Dogs reported that 31 dogs were seized, with eight being recovered by law enforcement. Paul is believed to have been part of the group.

She faces a misdemeanour trespassing charge and was released pending a future court date, according to a Sheriff’s Office representative.Ex-Baywatch star Alexandra Paul’ qhiukiuiqkeinv

Officials confirmed the beagles were retrieved, stating, "All of the animals that were taken have been recovered and none of the animals have been injured.", reports the Mirror.

Sheriff Kalvin Barrett commented, "The Dane County Sheriff’s Office understands how deeply people feel for the beagles at Ridglan Farms, and we respect their right to express that passion through peaceful protests."Alexandra Paul

"Our role is to keep everyone safe and to respond when unlawful activity takes place. We encourage anyone with concerns about animal welfare or research practices to engage through lawful and constructive avenues."

The Sheriff’s Office remains committed to maintaining public safety, promoting peaceful dialogue, and ensuring that all parties can exercise their rights within the bounds of the law."

Ridglan Farms has previously refuted claims of animal mistreatment and stated it operates within state and federal regulations.

Former Baywatch star Paul was reportedly slapped with a misdemeanor theft charge for allegedly swiping chickens from a truck in 2021, but was later acquitted.

Her journey into animal activism started at age 14 when she adopted a vegetarian diet. By 26, she had given up wearing any clothing derived from animal skins, and at 47, she embraced veganism.

A steadfast clause in her acting contracts was the refusal to wear any makeup tested on animals.
